CALL FOR PAPERS: China’s Impact on African Employment: What Do We Know and Where are the Gaps?
2014 Regional Event, Johannesburg, South Africa, Thursday 20 & Friday 21 November 2014.

The First Annual NJD Conference for the China and Africa partners will be held in November in Johannesburg, South Africa, under the auspices of the Development Policy Research Unit (DPRU) at the University of Cape Town and the Institute for Emerging Market Studies at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

In preparation for the conference, we invite the submission of high-quality academic work that focuses on the impact of China in Africa from a jobs and employment perspective. Papers based on new data and empirical evidence will be of particular interest.

Proposals will be selected through a tiered process. The deadline for submission of extended abstracts (500-750 words) is May 30, 2014.
